You can take a girl outta the mountains, but you can’t take the mountains out of the girl…
Though the calendar says it’s still a few weeks away yet, we’re already in full swing summer mode. The Westfalia is packed and ready for adventure on a moments notice, and we’ve been taking full advantage of our beautiful mountain home.
The last several weekends have been spend creekside, a simple dinner grilled over an open fire, a bottle of red wine and no agenda other than being together.
Our scenic little section of the Sierra Nevada’s is often referred to as The Lost Sierra. (Cheryl Strayed hiked through these exact mountains in her now infamous Pacific Crest Trail Hike featured in her memoir Wild.)
I’ve called these mountains home on and off for over two decades now, and no matter how far I go, or how many times, they will always hold a piece of my heart and history.
